Blood Donation Camp

Blood is one of the most essential fluids of our body that helps in the smooth functioning of our body. If the body loses blood in excessive amounts, people to get deadly diseases and even die. Thus, we see how blood donation is literally life-saving which helps people. It is also a sign of humanity that unites people irrespective of caste, creed, religion and more. On a fine morning of 2007,S.K Rai college of Arts, Science and commerce organized the blood donation program. All the students along with the professors were seen to take greater initiatives.

Guru Purnima or Vyasa Purnima celebration 2018

Guru Purnima or Vyasa Purnima Every year we celebrate Guru Purnima or Vyasa Purnima at our college to celebrate and pay our gratitude to our Gurus. This Sanskrit word literally translates to ‘the one who frees us of ignorance’.Guru Purnima is a tradition dedicated to all the spiritual and academic Gurus, who are evolved or enlightened humans, ready to share their wisdom with very little or no monetary expectation, based on Karma Yoga. Guru or teacher has always been considered akin to a God in the Hindu culture. This full moon day in the month of Ashada is one of the most auspicious days of the year in Hinduism.. It also commemorates the birthday of Ved Vyasa, who is credited to have authored some of the most important Hindu texts of all times such as the Puranas, Mahabharata and Vedas.

S.K.R Fiesta 2019

Rai’s education society’s SKR Fiesta: In 2018 under the principalship of Ms. Sanju Kumari Yadav the cultural Event named Rai’s education society’s SKR Fiesta started . Since then the College conducts one week event every year in the first week of December . This Event which consists of co-curricular and extra co-curricular activities is based on the belief that Co-curricular activities facilitate in the development of various domains of mind and personality such as intellectual development, emotional development, social development, moral development and aesthetic development and extra co- curricular activities are helpful in the development of various skills such time management , teamwork, management of any activity, how to lead a group and many more extra skill, leadership ,builds self-esteem, and improves resilience, all of which enhance education outcomes and helps in all-round development of the student. Through this event interest and hobbies of the students are encouraged and appreciated by conducting various competitions.

Degree and Junior College Picnic 2019

College Picinic is an occasion that all the students look forward to. Among the vigorous hard-working days, Even the students yearn for a break where they can laugh limitlessly and find ways to succeed seamlessly. So to give a lovely experience that engages the teachers and students into a world of relaxation, to give them a temporary break from their studies and to make them feel fresh and renewed vigor, every year the college plans a picnic for the students. This year the college planned to visit The Great Escape Water Park in Mumbai.

Yoga Day

Yoga is an ancient physical, mental and spiritual practice that originated in India. The word ‘yoga’ derives from Sanskrit and means to join or to unite, symbolizing the union of body and consciousness. In the words of one of its most famous practitioners, the late B. K. S. Iyengar, “Yoga cultivates the ways of maintaining a balanced attitude in day-to-day life and endows skill in the performance of one’s actions.” The International Day of Yoga aims to raise awareness worldwide of the many benefits of practicing yoga. Recognizing its universal appeal and to make the students aware about the importance and impact of yoga on their health, every year on 21 June the college celebrates international day by conducting yoga sessions for the staff and students with the help of yoga trainers.

Parents Teacher Meeting (PTM)

At S.K.RAI COLLEGE we emphasise our commitment to the family and welcome parents to share their ideas and questions pertaining to the academic programme or the progress of their child. All required information pertaining to the progress of the learner is communicated through Parent-Teacher Conferences and Learner Review Assessments. Occasionally, the college invites guest speakers and conducts workshops to enable parents to enhance their skills both as parents and as home educators. We believe that parents are very important stakeholders in the learners’ educational journey. To that effect, the school organises periodic meetings between the parents, coordinators and teachers so that parents are able to guide the learners at home with their research and home assignments.

Cleaning Campaign during Navratri

In 2018 in the month of November during Navratri festival as an extended part of the “Swach Bhartan Abhiyan “the college organized one more cleaning Campaign for cleaning one part of Versova beach. This event was quite successful as it got the support of BMC officials who were available on that part of the beach during that campaign. This event also got the appreciation from the officials as well as from one of the Marathi news paper.

India’s independence day is celebrated on 15th August Every year since 1947. It’s a Remarkable day where Principal, faculties staff and students pay tribute to the Nation and the freedom fighters of India. The day of India's independence is a day of pride, love and respect towards our Nation. To remember the struggle and sacrifice of our freedom fighters the student council of our college with the guidance of cultural heads organize cultural programs which is conducted after the Flag hosting and National Anthem on Independence day.

Sport is as old as humanity itself. It’s kept societies fit and healthy while building strong communities and boosting morale. Apart from happiness and Health Benefits, sports provide number of benefits such as neurological Benefits, psychological Benefit and improved Social Skill. Also it helps in building friendship among pupils, improving problem solving skills, instilling core values and make them better learners. Considering the importance of Sports in students‘ life and for their overall development, every year the college conducts sports day and students are encouraged to actively participate in it.

Teacher's Day Celebration: To honour teachers and celebrate their contribution to a particular field or the community in general , to acknowledge the challenges, hardships, and the special role that teachers play in student lives, every year on 5th September which is the birth anniversary of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan an indian philosopher, academic, and statesman who served as the first Vice President of India and the second President of India, a small function is organised by The student council of our college.

Swach Bhartan Abhiyan 2018-2019 :

Swach Bhartan Abhiyan 2018-2019 : Celebrating the 150th Anniversary of the father of nation Mahatma Gandhi and his culmination of the 'Swachhta Hi Sewa' event. under the guidance of Ms. Sanju Kumari Yadav the college organized an event called Swach Bharat Abhiyan in 2018 in which all the teaching staff including the principal and a team of more than 30 students actively participated. The entire team of students and the teaching staff successfully cleaned the nearby areas of Lokmany Tilak terminus(kurla) and this effort was appreciated by one of the Marathi news papers.
